White Oak Labs has actively contributed to these community service organizations by conducting training seminars, by developing open source software, or by board level participation.
High Tech Crime Investigation Association
The High Technology Crime Investigation Association(HTCIA) is designed to encourage, promote,aid and effect the voluntary interchange of data, information, experience, ideas and knowledge about methods, processes, and techniques relating to investigations and security in advanced technologies among its membership.
White Oak Labs has regularly presented original research results and new forensic methodologies at the HTCIA International Training Conference, and has supported various regional efforts for education and outreach as a member in good standing of HTCIA.
Texas Association of Licensed Investigators
The Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, Inc. ("TALI"), a Texas non-profit corporation,is a professional association for professional licensed investigators. TALI wasfounded in 1971 by a group of five investigators and has grown to over 600 members world-wide. TALI is dedicated to raising professionalism in the field of private investigations through continuingeducation, public awareness, advanced certification, networking and legislative involvement.
As a licensed investigation company, White Oak Labs supports various regional efforts for education and outreach as a member in good standing of TALI.
InfraGard Houston
InfraGard Houston is a non-profit partnership between government, business and academia to help oneanother guard our national infrastructure. The FBI and the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) lead this partnership to share information between the private and public-sector at both the national and local levels. Infragard's mission is to continually enhance protection of our nation's critical infrastructuresthrough information sharing, education outreach and advocacy of ethical behavior.

FreeBSD Operating System
FreeBSD is an advanced operating system for a wide variety of CPUs. It is derived from BSD (Berkeley Standard Distribution) UNIX® developed at the University of California. It offers advanced networking, performance, security and compatibility features todaywhich are still missing in other operating systems, even some of the best commercial ones.
White Oak Lab's founder was also a member of the founding FreeBSD core team and participated in it's software development for over a decade.
The XFree86 Project, Inc
The XFree86 Project, Inc is the organization which produces XFree86™, afreely redistributable open-source implementation of the X Window System. XFree86 runs primarily on UNIX(R) and UNIX-like operating systems such as Linux, all of the BSD variants, Sun Solaris x86, Mac OS X (via Darwin), as well as other platforms like OS/2 and Cygwin. XFree86, provides a client/server interface between display hardware (the mouse, keyboard, and video displays) and the desktop environment while also providing both the windowing infrastructureand a standardized application interface (API). XFree86 is platform-independent, network-transparent and extensible.
White Oak Lab's founder was also a founding member of the XFree86 project and continues to contribute to this core technology in the unix markets.
The Boy Scouts of America
The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremostyouth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Inthe future Scouting will continue to offer young people responsible fun and adventure; instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law; train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership; serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based programs.
White Oak Lab sponsors boy scout high adventure activities through contribution of funds, program resources and volunteer efforts at county-wide scouting events and boy scout troop events. White Oak Labs' founder has conducted cub scout summer camps as a camp program director and is an active member of the local Boy Scout district key leadership team.
